I have had this spot on my hand since I was a kid, could it be cancerous?

Ok so I have had this mark on my hand since I can remember. I dont think I was born with it, however I cannot remember how it got there. It is on the side of my hand below my pinky. I have read that cancerous spots hurt to press, which this doesnt hurt at all, and it isnt in a place that would be exposed to the sun for long periods of time. I havnt worried about it my whole life (i am a teenager), but I was discussing it today with some friends and now I cant stop thinking about it. I dont want to go straight to the doctor for a spot that has been there since forever that doesnt hurt, so I thought I would ask your oppinions first. I would put up a picture but I am too dumb to know how (lol), so I will try and describe it. It is a weird shape. It looks like a patchy spot about 3mm in diameter that has been scratched and there are like 4 little fine lines about 5mm long spreading off like scratch marks. Try to imagine an asteroid, lol. It is medium brown. Please help! Any oppinions? Could it be a birthmark? Or just a weird looking skin pigmentation? Anything but cancer! I need some advice, it is killing me not knowing
