Can i freeze a stew and how long do i defrost it for?

I've made a stew and it would take me about a week to eat it all as i live alone. Can i freeze it? I have little containers that i freeze other stuff in. Its basically just onions, carrots, parsnips and potatoes. If i can freeze it how long would i defrost it for? and how long will it keep in the freezer?
