Looking for a good Mountain Bike around $700?

More of a hybrid type bike that I can do trails on if I want. I was looking at the Marin Mountain HT bikes like the Bobcat or the Alloy HT like the Madrone. Is this a good company? What other reliable mountain bike company? Suggestions are great.
