What exactly does this mean? DOes it even make sense? HELP ME PLEASEEE?

There are a couple of things that he could be doing by that. 1) He could be liking two people. 2) He really likes you, and is just good friends with the girl that he texts a lot. 3) Vice Versa. Really good friends with the you, and didn't want his friends saying anything bad about you. I've done that for a good friend before in a conversation like that. I didn't necessarily like the girl, but I didn't want my friends saying anything negative about her. I hope I was able to help.
